THE UGLY FACES OF MAHAKUMBH

Before this dark themed, this heavy heartening blog, i would like to ask you guys to close your eyes for a moment and chant his name –

HAR HAR MAHADEV

Because after every dark tunnel, a light  comes in and makes our eyes blind for a second or two. That light opens our eyes, broaden our minds and makes our heart smile and fabricate our minds to thank the superior power that we finally go out of the darkness. So this is that darkness before the light. Give me a few minutes of your lives’s time and you’ll see the light behind the holiest place in the world,

KUMBH MELA

A little bit about the Kumbh Mela and its importance for Hindus –

(for those who know its importance and why its celebrated, feel free to skip the next paragraph)

According to the mythology, Devas (Gods) and Asuras (Devils) churned the cosmic ocean in search of the Amrita (nectar of immortality). A lot of incidents happened during the search but finally, in the end to prevent the Asuras from gaining immortality, Lord Vishnu took the form of the enchanting Mohini, a divine female avatar. Mohini tricked the Asuras into allowing her to distribute the nectar, but she ensured that only the Devas consumed it.

However, before this, Garuda, the mighty eagle and vehicle of Vishnu, played a crucial role. Vishnu instructed Garuda to swiftly take the Amrita Kalasha (pot of nectar) away from the Asuras and deliver it safely to the Devas, restoring the balance. As Garuda carried the Amrita Kalasha (pot of nectar) to safety, a few drops of the divine nectar spilled onto four specific places on Earth. These places later became sacred pilgrimage sites and are associated with the Kumbh Mela, one of the largest spiritual gatherings in the world. The four locations where the drops of Amrita fell are:

  1. Prayagraj (Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh) – At the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati rivers.
  2. Haridwar (Uttarakhand) – In the Ganga River.
  3. Ujjain (Madhya Pradesh) – In the Shipra River.
  4. Nashik (Maharashtra) – In the Godavari River4.

These places became highly sacred, and the Kumbh Mela is held in rotation at each of them every 12 years. The significance of these locations comes from the belief that during the Kumbh Mela, the waters of these rivers are infused with the divine nectar’s power, granting spiritual purification and liberation to those who bathe in them.

Now Time To Uncover
The Ugly Faces Of MahaKumbh
dare to seek the truth?

Spent 20 days at Mahakumbh, peeling back layers of faith, fear, and deception. What I saw changed everything.
CHAPTER 1: The Beginning—Faith for Sale
Four days in, still no idea for my film. Sleepless nights, restless days. Then, I noticed them—sadhus, or so they seemed.Begging for essentials. At first, I believed in giving. Good karma, right? But then, I saw the same men collecting the same donations from different people.
Later, another “sadhu” stopped me.
“Buy me 5 liters of ghee,” he demanded.
I refused politely.
“Which god do you believe in?” he asked, his stare cutting through me.
“Shiva.”
“I am Shiva’s messenger, son.”
That’s when it hit me. Faith had a price tag.
The ash-covered sadhus preach peace, yet count their cash.
Prayers now come with a hidden fee, wrapped in holy words and deceit.
We trust the robe, not the man inside.
We crave belief—so we close our eyes.

DO NOT LOOK AWAY

CHAPTER 2: Fame Over Faith

Day 9. The faces changed. The hunger grew—not for enlightenment, but for attention.

Sadhus, meant to renounce materialism, now chase news cameras, Instagram likes, and TV spots.
One “saint” saw my camera and performed—not for devotion, but for virality.

brought a paper and pen to write down the contact and channel details of where we were going to publish his video..

Hands reach out for blessings, only to grasp at illusions.
They speak of detachment but cling to power.
They walk like saints, yet chase the crowd.

CHAPTER 3: The Darkest Tantra

On my last days, near Ganga Ghat, a man asked for a donation.
I gave him ₹100.
Hours later, he was smoking chillum with a sadhu—the only honest one I met.

Later, the same man approached me. High. Possessed.
He offered to show me something “beyond this world.”
I played along.

At the ghat, he revealed a book: “Kali Upasana Rahasya.” (Goddess –Kali’s Secret to Worship)
“This book found me. It’s Kali’s gift,” he whispered.

He even told me a series of information to which i connected the dots of –

  • I asked him that why do people do black magic to which he ultimately told me about the people who do black magic for themselves. He said “those who do it for themselves, sacrifice a person, from whom they can get what the magician wants in life.
  • Later he said “i am lost in love, family and as a disciple”
  • While coming towards the ghat, he said “I got this book on my lap one fine day, felt as if it is a kali’s gift to me so i accepted it and i finally feel like i am the king of the world.”

His eyes burned with something darker than devotion.

He handed me white almonds—a known vessel for black magic.
I didn’t eat them.

Beware what you consume.

Black magic lurks in whispers and shadows.
Those who take what isn’t theirs will bow when the master calls.
Power is never free—it always demands a price.

Truth is fed. Lies are stripped away.
WELCOME TO LIVELENS.

CHAPTER 4: The Revelation

The only real sadhu I met, spoke truths most wouldn’t dare say.

  • “This is Kalyug,” he said.
“A son will kill his family for survival. Lovers will behead each other in blind rage. Cleverness is in the heart, not the mind. Respect has turned into fear, and fear into faith.”
  • “This society has created frauds. We bow to money, not morals. We trust the masks, not the faces beneath them. This is why true sadhus disappear, leaving behind only performers and society being the audience who pay to watch the performance”
  • “If everyone jumps from the balcony, be the one to stop them. Be the one to bring smiles, not tears.”

I AM READY FOR THIS CHANGE. ARE YOU?

Truth is over. Reality begins.
